Privacy Policy

Watch Kids ("we", "our", "us") is a curated video platform for children, available on Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and protected, and your rights regarding your data.

By using Watch Kids you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

1.1 Account Data

To create and manage your parent account we collect:

• Display name and email address (from your Google account, via Google Sign-In)
• Google account UID (used as an identifier in our database)
• Timestamp of account creation and last sync

1.2 Child Profile Data

When you create a child profile, you provide:

• Child's display name (chosen by parent — we recommend not using real names)
• Age or age range (to filter appropriate content)
• Custom playlist preferences and watch history per profile

1.3 Usage & Watch Data

When your child uses the app, we may automatically collect:

• Videos watched and search queries (text or voice)
• Playlists created and videos saved
• Session duration and screen time data

1.4 Device & Technical Data

When you use the app we may automatically collect:

• Device model and operating system version
• App version and language/locale settings
• Crash reports and anonymous error logs (no child content is ever included)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Authentication

User authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication using Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0). We do not store your Google password.

Cloud Storage

Your account and profile data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore. All data is transmitted over TLS. Firebase's security rules ensure that only authenticated users can access their own data.

Local Storage

Some preferences and watch progress may be cached locally on your device for offline access. This data is stored in the app's private sandbox and is not accessible to other apps.

We share minimal data with trusted service providers solely to operate Watch Kids:

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app's Settings screen. Upon deletion:

• check_circle Local app data is removed when you uninstall the app.
• check_circle Firebase Auth records are deleted immediately upon account deletion request.

Depending on your location you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability: Export your child's watch history and playlist data from the app's Settings screen.
• Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

Watch Kids is designed to be used by parents to create a safe viewing environment for their children. The app account is registered and managed by a parent or guardian (18+).

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable laws (including GDPR for users in the EU/UK). Specifically:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
• Child profiles are created and controlled by the parent account holder.
• We do not show behavioural advertising to children.
• We do not allow children to make purchases — all billing is handled via the parent account through Apple App Store or Google Play.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Watch Kids is operated from Vietnam. By using the app, users outside Vietnam agree to the transfer and processing of their data in accordance with this policy. Cloud data may be stored in Google's data centers located in multiple regions. All transfers use industry-standard encryption (TLS) and comply with applicable data protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice or email. Continued use of Watch Kids after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
